They are fascinating old things and they have a story. I guess in the information
age we will record details such as owners, orchestras, where they have been and
what sort of music they were involved with, but for the older basses its a
matter of word of mouth, which of course can be the victim of chinese whispers
over the years. Many details have died with thier owners. Below are the stories
